About Norbert

Norbert, 42, is general manager of Stonemill Bakehouse Ltd. a Toronto-based, bakery specializing in organic and all natural, healthy and nutritional breads for the Canadian and international markets. In addition to its other contributions to the community, the bakery supports organic farming and uses non-GMO ingredients.

Norbert is an active member of the Thornhill community, where he has lived since 1999. He has served on the St Anthony School Council for seven years - the last four years as its treasurer. Norbert's volunteer work includes coaching and helping with the local Out of the Cold Program.

He is fluent in English and German with a good understanding of French and has worked and lived in Hong Kong, Germany, and France. He has an Honours BA in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario and also studied for two years at the Albert Ludwig University in Freiburg, Germany.

Norbert has been married to his wife Gisela for fourteen years. The couple has five boys, all under the age of eleven. Norbert grew up as the fifth child of a family of seven in Windsor, Ontario. He is also an avid cyclist and triathlete and enjoys hiking and spending time in the outdoors.

Norbert has been an active member of the Green Party for over seven years. He has served the Thornhill Greens as Financial Agent, Official Agent, and CEO.
